Okay, so it can still be referred to as ASNE, but the American Society of Newspaper Editors has decided to drop “paper” from their name, reports Buzz Machine.
So wow. That’s a big change. I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad one. It is a sign of the times that newspapers are changing- the important thing about them is not that they are printed, but that they deliver news. Look at the rush for papers to get things online. So we still have editors, we still have news, but maybe in the future we won’t have newspapers.
What was your first reaction to this? Is it simply a change before its time or a mistake?
