Juicy Campus down for good

Juicy Campus, a Web site that publishes anonymous comments about college students by other college students, has called it quits, reports Yahoo News.

The Web site is already down, otherwise I would link to it. I remember reading a Boston Globe article about this a few months ago.

The idea, honestly, seems horrible. As if people didn’t go through enough torture in high school with gossip. This site simply perpetuates an adolescent mind frame that college is suppose to relieve us of. There are always the incredibly infantile among us, but this site reached out to the masses.

In our age of social networking online, I must admit I was surprised that Juicy Campus went under. Matt Ivester, founder and CEO, recently released a message saying the Web site was coming down for economic reasons. Hmm, could it be the lawsuits the company is facing?
